Ever spent 24 hours with a nine-person pop sensation before? Well, you’re in luck, because that’s exactly what Vogue recently did with the South Korean girl group Twice, tagging along as they shot a brand-new video in Seoul.
While hair and makeup commenced, the members of Twice chatted about everything from early call times—5 a.m., yikes!—to Y2K style and their fandom, which they call “Once.” After everyone was officially deemed camera-ready, the group headed to set to practice the choreography they’re known for (with some truly incredible outfits on display, from a cropped turtleneck to an aughts-style shrug).
It can be difficult to arrive at a quorum with a nine-person band, but the members of Twice—Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu—are deeply collaborative, discussing everything from choreo to blocking before breaking for a group lunch that underscores just how close they’ve grown over the past seven years. Afterwards, the group returns to set, commending one another for a “great hustle” before wrapping and heading off to rehearse.
It’s been almost three years since Twice had the opportunity to connect with their fan base in person, and Once has been waiting eagerly; for their part, the members of Twice are no less excited to get back in front of an audience and feed off the energy of the crowds that catapulted them to fame. Suffice it to say, we’re all counting down the days!
