Portia! Portia! Portia! We’re all still reeling from the finale of White Lotus and the internet’s MTAP (most talked about person) is undoubtedly Portia, the hapless, Gen-Z assistant to Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya. Her chaotic, every-color-and-print-at-once outfits have been the source of some of the most robust Twitter discourse since Elon Musk purchased the platform. So we spoke to Haley Lu Richardson, the 27-year-old actor who perfectly plays Portia about filming in Sicily, her new tattoo, her crochet side hustle and why Portia is someone to empathize with.
One of the great thrills of December is not the anticipation of Rudolf but rather the onslaught of year-in-review web content. I live for a Vogue.com best fashion moments round-up, so what better way to celebrate that than by discussing it–in depth–on the pod with Vogue Runway fashion writer Jose Criales Unzueta. Basically our version of the Oscars, we award everything from the top style renegade to the most divisive dress of the year (here’s a hint: Happy Birthday Mr. President…)
We also chatted with Vogue.com culture writer Emma Specter about her favorite pop culture and political stories of the year and senior living writer Elise Taylor about the House of Windsor’s big year from the dales of Balmoral to the hills of Montecito. Don’t worry we don’t try to breakdown the nuclear fusion breakthrough but we do try to break down the lack of excitement around the 2023 Golden Globe nominations announcement and what the January 10 show will have to look forward to. And, we’ll also offer the Vogue reaction to the World Cup as we approach the competition’s final match this Sunday.
We’re taking a holiday hiatus but we’ll be back bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in 2023, so tune in for our next episode on January 5. Happy New Year!
